Message from Group Managing Director
My Dear Al Ansari family members,
First of all, our apologies for missing an issue during October last year, as the Silver jubilee celebration year had kept our team very busy in organization of an eventful year in various fields for creating an atmosphere of festivity throughout the year for all of us. Many thanks for all your support and participation to make it a memorable year in the life of Al Ansari’s wonderful 25 years in Oman.
The year 2000 has certainly been an eventful year in terms of activity, but on economic grounds I am proud to say that in comparison to the overall economy of the region our AL ANSARI family has fared well. We have every reason to be proud of our achievements during the year in general. I hope and expect that each and every member of my family keeps his promises that we have made during our Golden March function in January 2001 amidst the attendance of dignitaries, valued clients, business associates and well wishers of the group.
We are proud to have diversified our activities by opening up a Vegetarian Fast Food franchise and taking up equity in a Stone Manufacturing Unit. We wish both these new ventures a grand success!
We have added a feather to our group’s cap by establishing a unit under the name of AL ANSARI ENGINEERING SERVICES LLC, which will be managed by our Engg Div. At Ghala. There has been a modification in the name of our Media Computers, which shall now be known as MEDIA COMPUTERS & TRAINING SERVICES LLC as they have now ventured into imparting Training in the field of IT under the umbrella of Clarient of USA. This will be a part of Media Technical and Administrative Training Institute.
We wish both these units good luck too! The spill over of the year 2000 has kept us busy in the beginning of the year 2001. For the remainder part of the year we will have to work hard and play our roles suitably for making this a successful year. I give my personal assurance on behalf of the management for all the support required in order for us to prosper and make our dreams come true. Here, I am reminded of a thought “To be more than you are, to do more than you are doing, to achieve higher standards and greater results are definitely inherent in each of us” So get cracking!
I hope you will enjoy going through this rather ‘late’ Update as it contains various achievements of our group families under each activities.
Our sincere sympathies to those who experienced the trauma of nature’s blow-the Earthquake in India. I am overwhelmed by the response of the entire Al Ansari family by contributing a day’s salary to the appeal. We are proud of you for standing by us in a calamity of this nature. May we pray to Allah the Almighty to give the affected ones, courage and strength to go through this unfortunate suffering.
May God bless us all and show us the right path to shine again during the year 2001 and be able to help the country as well as the community in its endeavors.

Al Ansari Events highlights
In continuation of the coverage of our 25 years celebrations held last year we had marked every month with a special event for the staff and their families. Below is the detailed report of these events.
31 May 2000
ART & CRAFT DEMONSTRATION PROGRAMME – An interesting ART & CRAFT DEMONSTRATION was conducted by Mrs. Bijal Ved for the ladies and children of our family along with a drawing competition for the children.
29 June 2000
A first of its kind, Cooking competition for the ladies of our family was held at the Staff
Camp Recreation room. This mouth watering event was judged by 2 Executive chefs of the Al Falaj Hotel. The list of winners and r/up in the competition are as follows:

27 July 2000
For the first time we held an IN HOUSE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT mainly for our Omani Brethren. This entertaining tournament was held at the Royal Hospital football grounds. Almost 50 Omani staff members participated in this event.
25 August 2000
Our yearly IN HOUSE SOFTBALL CRICKET TOURNAMENT which has evoked good response previously, was held at a new venue this year, i.e. the Muscat Inter-Continental Hotel-Staff grounds. The winning team’s photograph is shown herewith.
16-20 Sept. 2000
Prof. C.F. Joseph conducted a week long Personality development program for our managers and their spouses. Members from other companies and organizations were also present for this creative program held at the Ghala staff camp Recreation room. The program concentrated on topics like presentation skills, memory skills, creativity and Public Speaking.
October 2000
This month witnessed 2 events being conducted. The first one, being our Annual Sports Tournament comprising of sports such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess. The second event being a combination of the Diwali and Issra-ul-Miraj celebration in which the children of our family were dressed in their traditional attire. The prizes of the Annual sports tournament were distributed on this occasion.
17th Nov. 2000
Our Annual Blood Donation Campaign conducted by the Ministry of Health-Department of Blood officials was held at the Engineering Division-Recreation Centre. This charitable cause was aided by 96 donors from our family.
31 Dec 2000
The celebrations for the year long celebrations ended with a triple celebration of Christmas- Ramadan-New year at the Engineering division Recreation center. The evening had a fancy dress competition for the children, Christmas Carol singing and thanks giving by the management.
Golden March
A PROMISE KEPT & A PROMISE TO KEEP
As a culmination of the 25 years celebrations of the group, a grand celebration was held at the Grand Hyatt hotel on 17 January 2001.
This event was titled as the ‘Golden March’, where, a host of distinguished guests, ministers, ambassadors and prestigious suppliers & customers were present.
The event unfolded with a multimedia presentation on our company achievements & diversification to be done in the near future. On this occasion our MD Mr. Kiran Asher attributed the 25 years of successful growth, to the family image built up within the organization which has attracted top class professionals.
Our MD thanked one and all who have contributed to the group’s growth in the past 25 years and promised further growth & prosperity in the next 25 years which is our ‘Golden March’.
The ceremony ended with the dramatic unveiling of the 50 years logo, symbolizing the future expansion plans in the next 25 years.
